A Gypsy Spirit: La Zingara

Do you, like me, look around and say, “what a Wonderful idea”?

I am. Here.

Welcome to A Mother’s Insight!!!

This is where Family, Food and Inspiration weave together to create the Spectacular.  It really is all about breaking down the barriers and engaging in the world around us!

So, let’s get started!

Magic happened one Saturday night with this man, Chef Jacob Ramos.  He is an amazing young chef, husband and father.  He wanted to put on a dinner for us, so I said, ‘SURE”!  My husband and I met Chef Jacob in Dorado Beach, Puerto Rico a few years back.  He was working at Mi Casa, for the Ritz Carlton Reserve.  He was so good to us!

He now lives and works in Los Angeles.  Chef Jacob was looking for a diversion and challenge from the super amazing job he has for the Marriott and Ritz Carlton in downtown Los Angeles.  I was so humbled that he wanted to create a restaurant at my home.

17 dishes came out of my kitchen on this “Night to Remember”, for
20 people!  The best part is that Chef and I mixed it up.  He invited family and friends and I invited family and friends.  What a wonderful way to meet new people.  And right in my very own backyard!  To the table!

We ate and drank well that evening.  We laughed and danced late into the night.  With our arms stretched wide and a deep breath in our hearts, we embraced all that was new and Wonderful.

“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.” Anaïs Nin

La Zingara is an Italian Gypsy Woman, one whose spirit yearns for all connectedness to the world around her.  That’s me!!!

Thank you Contessa! I am quite partial to Al Fresco dining. We have this area on the side of the house that sits shaded most of the year. It has been transformed into this amazing dining space. There are many memories made around that table. You have been a huge inspiration to me. I appreciate all of your help!
