A wonderful way to start the day is at Caffè Roma in North Beach, San Francisco. The Azzollini family is still roasting some of the best beans in the city. I always love to sit outside the caffè and watch the day start. The people, the pets and the traffic going by…you can feel everything waking up!
I love looking at and through doorways. I can always imagine some spectacular life beyond the outward facade. The stories beyond the gates are what inspire me to always take a closer look.
A brisk walk from North Beach down to Fisherman’s Wharf.
We had big plans for the day! Our goal: to rent electric bikes and cruise the Golden Gate Bridge!
We rented the bikes at Bay City Bikes on Bay Street. This is located right at the end of the Cable Car line in Fisherman’s Wharf. How convenient is that? This is one of the times it is really advantageous to look on Groupon for discounted tickets. The bikes are very sturdy and they come with maps and locks. Be prepared with water and a hoodie. It gets cold on the Bridge!
This was an exhilarating bike ride! It was fast paced and it was relatively easy, due to the electric bikes. The bike paths are scenic, very well marked and smooth!
Our bike trip was around a 4 hour tour. We laughed and raced each other. We probably rang the bike bells a little too often, and we had FUN! After working up that kind of appetite, we headed to Yank Sing, in the Rincon building, for Dim Sum. This has been a favorite of ours for many years. Our son can never get enough of the Soup Dumplings.
All the while we were enjoying our family time, a dear friend was watching on Instagram! Spontaneity is key on a road trip such as this. Watch for the next installment to see who we visited!
